About a month ago my step brother Michael Roy died in a motorcycle accident. He was 21 years old.

Soon after Mikey’s passing, I began working with my family to create a memorial to remember my stepbrother that would have the most impact. Yesterday Ben Delaware, the director of recreation for the city of Haverhill, contacted me to confirm that my idea to memorialize Mikey was indeed a reality.

Mikey LOVED to play baseball, basketball and ride his skateboard. Haverhill's Cashman Playground has all three of those activities. I am confident that he would be pleased with me for what I have created. There will be a memorial bench placed at Haverhill’s Cashman Playground with Mikey’s name on the bench. I look forward to being able to sit on that bench when I want to reconnect with him.

I will let everyone know when the bench is completed and invite you to the ceremony when it will be dedicated.
