A Masjid Upon the Sunnah in the Island Pemba, Zanzibar

Assalamu alaykum,

In the island of Pemba in Zanzibar, Tanzania, we are seeking to raise funds to build a small masjid for the sake of Allah and to call others to follow the Sunnah. We are unable to do it ourselves, so we are asking the Muslims to aid us in this matter, for it is great in the sight of Allah. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, also said: “When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”

Therefore, we ask our fellow Muslims to help us so that we all share a reward in this. Every time a Muslim prayers, makes wudhu, reads Qur'an, learns something beneficial from a class, those who aided in building a house from the houses of Allah will obtain rewards until the day they meet their Lord. Jazakumallahu khairan.

Before building the land, we must first purchase it. I've listed all the costs regarding building the masjid and will continue to give updates as progress continues.

Cost of buying the land: 15 million Tanzanian shillings / $5,630

Cost of labor: 10 million Tanzanian shillings / $3,756

Cost of materials: 75 million Tanzanian shillings / $28,172

Cost of building: 85 million Tanzanian shillings / $31,929

Total = $69,487 USD
