A Marine Veteran Needs a Helping Hand

Meet Rob. He is a proud marine veteran and former Gloucester fisherman. Rob has had one of the toughest years of his life and needs a bit of generosity to help get through this tough time.
Rob's history includes four years as a marine veteran in the 3rd recon battalion in Okinawa, and 2nd force recon battalion at camp Le Jeune NC. Due to a parachuting accident in the service that left his back compromised and in need of surgery, he was honorably discharged in 1992. From there he went on to doing various jobs including truck driving, but the constant sitting was tough on his back. In 2003, Rob started a new career as a commercial fisherman out of Gloucester, Mass. He did this arduous job until late 2018 when the demands of the job became too much for his physically beat up body. He ended up needing a back fusion in December of 2018 which left it impossible for him to return to his fishing career. Rob spent two weeks in the hospital after the surgery due to a health illness that doctors could not diagnose. He rehabbed for up to four months into 2019, and since then has been trying to figure out his next career move given his current physical health and limited skill set. Standing and sitting for hours is not an option. Unemployment benefits ran out long ago. He receives a small amount of disability money through the Veteran's Association and has applied for SSA disability but has been denied.
Rob is a generous and kind man. He has four stepchildren with his wife, Candace, and through the years he has depleted any resources they've had helping some of the kids though their own trials and tribulations. Candace gave up a career and higher education to raise her kids and is currently awaiting her own much needed back surgery. They are both hard workers and have just found themselves at a stage in life where things look bleak, there seems nowhere to turn, and opportunities are very limited.
Any money will be used for rent, food, gas and medical bills. Please consider donating any amount to help out this family man until he can turn things around for the better! It will be immensely appreciated.
