In 2023, HPP established our first veterans network. As I type, the group currently consists of 30 members who served in a variety of branches of the military from various countries. One of the first things we wanted to do as a group was to see which charities that we might be able to support. As such, we reached out to 'Helping Homeless Veterans UK' who look to help homeless veterans into accommodation and work.

The question was asked of how we could support the charity coming up to Christmas, and we were asked to support making Christmas Day a special one for the tenants of 'Talbot Mews' which is their new housing project. The house is home to 6 formerly homeless veterans who are being supported back into work and ultimately their own accommodation. As this will be their first Christmas in the house, we will be looking to make it a special one with gifts and a full Christmas dinner (cooked by myself and another ex-serviceman). Rather than this just being a veterans group initiative, we would really like to open the fundraising to everyone at HPP to support the project.
