A LOVING TRIBUTE TO PATTY (PAT) NEMETH

On the morning of April 17th tragedy struck the Nemeth family. As Patty(Pat) and Gerard (Gerry, Nemo) prepared to leave the house, Gerard heard some unusual noises and discovered Patty incoherent and struggling to breath. He immediately called 911 and performed CPR until the first responders arrived. Patty was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital where doctors provided their care and expertise to try and reverse this tragedy. Shockingly, Patty never regained consciousness and on Monday April 19th Patty passed.

Patty and Gerard moved from Pittsburgh, Pa to Columbus, Ohio in 1986 and started a family. New relationships were formed in Columbus, and trips home for the holidays and traditional family picnics maintained the Pittsburgh connections.

Having roots in both locations and no pre-arrangements made for some difficult decisions of how to memorialize Patty.

Ultimately, the family decided to bring Patty home and friends were received on April 27 at the George A. Thoma Funeral Home, in Wexford, Pa. A mass was held April 28 at St. Alphonsus (St. Aidan Parish) in Wexford, and Patty was laid to rest at Holy Savior Cemetery in Gibsonia, Pa. A celebration of life was held with friends and family at Hartman’s golf course in Harmony, Pa, with another planned at the Wigwam Event Center, in Violet Township, Ohio on May 6th.

I have no idea of Gerard and Patty’s financials, but I do know this is a financial event and Patty’s passionate, hardworking skills are no longer available to help support future challenges.

This terrible, unexpected tragedy leaves everyone feeling helpless, in disbelief and looking for ways to help. I feel that creating a medical and memorial “Go Fund Me” is a way of helping and might give the family one less thing to be concerned about.

Gerard will be in charge of the campaign funds.
