My name is Nailah Cook. On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, I lost my beloved husband, Matthew Alexander Cook, of 30 years, to a long health battle. Matthew had a zest for life that was indescribable, and after being hospitalized on July 19, 2025, he believed with all his heart that he would return home to his family's home, which he adored; however, God had other plans for my husband, and he is now at peace. He is no longer suffering, he is no longer in pain, and he is no longer struggling. Matthew and I have three beautiful children, whom Matt describes as his "blessing from God". Unfortunately, since Matt's passing came suddenly and unexpectedly, we are now having to contend with his insurance company, which has placed his policy under contested review. This means they can decide whether to pay for his funeral costs or deny the claim. This can take up to a year, and we simply want to say goodbye to our precious Matthew. We want to provide Matthew with a peaceful homegoing celebration that will honor his life and the beautiful spirit that he embodied while alive on this earth. Matthew was only 53 years old when he passed away. We are kindly asking for any amount to be donated toward his homegoing celebration on Friday, August 8, 2025. It is our hope that we will raise the full amount so that we can honor his life with integrity, dignity, and love. Thank you.
