A Loving Teacher In Need of Our Support

Hi, my name is Ana and I'm fundraising for my friend and colleague, Nancy, her husband Jona, and their sweet baby girl, Leah. I met Nancy in November, teaching our 3-6-year-old students at a Montessori school in Reston, VA. Nancy goes above and beyond to love her students each day. It's our turn to help her in a time of need!

Driving home from work on Tuesday afternoon, Nancy and Leah were impacted by a 3-car pile-up on the highway. Leah suffered bruises, Nancy suffered a concussion, and their car was totaled. Due to the nature of the accident, insurance can only cover a small portion of the car's damage. Nancy and her husband, Jona, work very hard in their full-time jobs to support their immediate and extended families. This accident made a big impact on their financial situation. Living 45 minutes away from work, Nancy relies on their car to get to and from work each day.

To add to their already difficult situation, Nancy and Jona learned today that their sweet daughter Leah was diagnosed with having a benign tumor in her left kidney. As you can imagine, the medical expenses they will have in order to get the tests and treatment needed add to their financial stress.

We are often desiring to help those around us and in our community, but aren't sure how to help. Right now, financial support allowing Nancy and Jona to buy a car to allow Nancy to get to and from work each day and pay for the medical bills for Leah's medical needs and expenses would allow both to continue focusing their energy on their family and community.
