We’re creating this GoFundMe for my sister, Lori, who is facing more than a person should have to handle at once.

She recently welcomed a baby boy who is courageously fighting in the NICU. Emilio decided to make his debut at only 28 weeks, which resulted in having an open heart valve and two severe brain bleeds. Doctors say it could be a long road ahead involving physical therapy upon his hospital release, and that it's important during this critical stage to be present, as it can make a huge difference in his healing. Because of this, Lori spends nearly all of her time at the hospital by Emilio’s side, dedicating herself fully to being there for him as he fights.

As if that weren’t enough, those who know Lori know that her dog Xena is her best friend and constant companion. Lori rescued her as a puppy and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Unfortunately, Xena was recently diagnosed with melanoma and now requires ongoing cancer treatments, adding both significant emotional and financial strain during an already overwhelming time.

Between hospital visits, pet care, and everyday bills, she's doing her best to hold everything together but the weight of it all has caught up. Living in Las Vegas, miles always from family, she's trying her best to stay strong for her newborn, for Xena, and for herself - and no one should have to do this alone.

We’re asking for help to ease the financial burden so Lori can focus on what matters most: being there for Emilio and caring for Xena. Any donation, no matter the size, will help cover the unexpected costs that come with this journey.
