A Loving Send-Off for Little Millie

Miss Millie has lost her fight. This beautiful little girl was diagnosed with MPS1 (Hurler Syndrome) when she was just 3 days old. The doctors said this would be a long, hard journey, and they weren't kidding. At 1 month old, she started her treatment to receive a bone marrow transplant, which consisted of a week of chemotherapy to lessen her immune system so her body would accept the transplant. She did amazing; everything went as it should, and the transplant took, but unfortunately, the chemo did a lot of damage. She then started a new battle: bleeding in her stomach, bleeding in her lungs, and three risky surgeries. She conquered them with grace. Let me tell you, this little girl was a warrior. Every time the doctors said it's not good, she proved them wrong. She fought for 99 days until mom and dad had to make the decision to let her rest. Ultimately, her liver would not heal. The medicine they used to treat it causes your blood to thin, which was making her lungs bleed. This became a battle she couldn't win. My heart aches so bad for my sister and her little family. With her not being able to work to be with Millie and dad doing what he can, basically being a single dad, they barely have anything to put towards a funeral.
