Paulette (Paula) Hamilton’s story:
Our dear friend Paulette was diagnosed with breast cancer. in December of last year. She struggled in silence over the holidays to ensure she didn't upset her children and family with this devastating news.

She developed pneumonia in February which caused the delay of her scheduled double mastectomy and reconstruction to March. Overlooked medical information was then discovered during her 6-week recovery.

The cancer had gone from stage 1 to stage 4 incurable breast cancer and treatment was no longer an option.
She is now on chemo medication for comfort and to control growth with no option of chemo radiation treatment.

She has endured endless medical procedures (CT scans, MRIs, injections, and medical treatments), sometimes up to 5 in a day. Despite her struggles, Paulette knows she has to keep a positive front for her children.

When she informed her family and friends, she told them not to worry, and she would be ok. Even though she was struggling inside, her biggest concern was to minimize her families worries and comfort them at this difficult time . Paulette’s loving, generous, hardworking and positive attitude never ceases to amaze.

Paulette’s Children & family life:
Paulette loves to spend quality time with her children doing various activities such as hiking, fishing, camping and just being together.

She loves to celebrate Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Halloween and made sure every day was special for her children.

She worked hard to provide for her children, but she never let them know the financial struggles she faced to do this for them as a single mom.

Paulette’s work life:
Paulette worked long days as a traffic director in extreme outdoor weather conditions, often coming home with sun stroke, heat blisters on her face and a sore body from standing on concrete all day.

When she needed anything extra for her children, she also worked in the evening as a waitress at the Silver Spike Saloon and as a night shift cleaning staff at a department store.

As a single mom with very little additional support, she always made sure her kids had everything they needed and more.

Paulette’s outlook on life:
Her kindness and generosity does not end with her family. She has always treated everyone she met with respect and kindness.

A prime example was when I witnessed her give her popcorn to a homeless man who was sitting outside of the Canada Life Centre. Hundreds of people walked by him not taking any notice. Paulette saw him instantly, she walked over to him, knelt beside him and smiled and gave him her change and her popcorn. Afterwards, she smiled and laughed that “he needed it more than she did.”

Karma:
Paulette has always shared and given everything she could to her family, friends and anyone that needed help . I believe in Karma and hope that by passing on this story, the generosity she has always given to others will be returned to her.

How you can help:
If this story touches your heart, please consider donating to help support her during this difficult time. Your generosity can make a world of difference.

Paulette’s family income was reduced by more than half when she became ill, making it hard for her to focus on what’s important, cherishing memories with her children, enjoying life to its fullest and staying positive.

Our Goal and What the funds will be used for:
Despite what the Doctors say, she has not given up. She is determined to fight this and continues to enjoy life to its fullest and keeps a positive outlook.

Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 for Paulette and her children to help her keep her positive outlook on life and assist her family in a time of need. The funds will be used for:
● A vacation cabin rental where Paulette can enjoy time with her family
● A fishing trip where her family can bond and cherish their time together and create lasting memories.
● Assist with financial pressures and care for her children in this time of need.
● Developing trust funds for the future needs of her children.
● Above all, it will show this amazing woman how wonderful she is and help her stay positive in the most difficult of times!!

Please pass this on to your contacts so together we can help a family in need. Words of encouragement for Paulette also mean a lot .
