A Loving Husband and Daddy Who is Gone Too Soon

Hi, my name is Melissa. Saturday night (October 23), my sister Sarah Renaud and her family were involved in a car accident. My sister, my niece, and my nephew suffered mild injuries but returned home from the hospital the next day and are okay. I am sad to say that my brother in law, Cameron Renaud, passed away on October 24.

 

Learning that I lost my seemingly-invincible brother-in-law has left me in shock and heartbreak. Cameron adored his family. He was Sarah's high school sweetheart, he's been in our lives for so many years, and I expected him to be here for so many more. He was a great dad who loved his two little kids more than anything in the world. He is *supposed* to still be here. How is this even possible? I'm trying not to become overly emotional. It has been a difficult time for all of us, especially for Sarah. I can't imagine being in her position right now.

 

Sarah and her family, all of us, are comforted by the outpouring of of love, help, and support from family, friends, and her church. I wanted to set up a GoFundMe page for Sarah to help with the mountain of expenses that have suddenly been placed on her shoulders. I am hoping we can all help with funeral costs, getting a new car, a new phone, and hopefully to supplement her loss of income so she can afford all the rest of her day-to-day bills.

 

As per GoFundMe transparency requirements: Our good friend Catherine Mitchell, who has been a close friend of our family since we were in elementary school, is currently the beneficiary to this account. She is a very trustworthy friend who is also handling Sarah's Meal Train (it made more sense to have one go-to person, rather than going to Catherine for some expenses and me for others). Until Sarah has access to her bank account, Catherine has been accompanying her to help her pay for expenses related to Cameron's passing, which include funeral arrangements, medical bills, replacing her phone, paying general bills, etc. Once she is able, Catherine will transfer funds directly to Sarah's account so Sarah can access them directly.
