Hello, it's been a long while since I've had to make one of these. I've owned dogs for as long as I can remember. Ever since I moved here to Shorewood with my family, I've had at least ONE or TWO dogs to keep us all company.

One of said dogs was named Zandi. She was a minature pinscher. It was around december of last year that I ultimately made one of the toughest decisions I think any pet owner ever has to make: I noticed how out of control her tumors/cancer was getting, along with a myraid of other issues (anemia, severe hair loss across her rear, blindness, shakes) I went with some of my family, and with the help of a online stranger, managed to pay what was needed at the time (250 then) to cover Zandi's euthanasia, her cremation, and I received a ceramic paw print with her name and a snippet of her hair.

I miss her like crazy even if I know in my heart of hearts it was the right thing to do. Even at 16 I still wish we could have had more time.

That's where I come to you again. Reese, my 19 year old chihuahua, has also been suffering from the same type of cancer that Zandi had been dealing with (breast cancer) and at her advanced age, I don't believe surgery would be good for her even if it might work. She's already been through prior surgeries (an emergency c-section, having had to have her back stitched/stapled shut after being attacked by a much larger dog at 16 years old)

I noticed only recently how bad her tumors were starting to look and even though she still ate, slept, and cuddled with me as my Reese usually does, I could tell she was carrying a tremendous burden (figuratively and literally) and it's been driving me insane everyday. I'll be much lonelier without Reese or any dog by my side for that matter but the dog's needs must come before my own, thus why I've decided to set up this Gofundme.

The money gathered would be covering:

-the euthanasia
-the examination (Reese has never been to this vet before/the receptionist explained it's mandatory for all new dogs to have an exam)
-the cremation
-the return of her hair and a ceramic paw print
-transportation (I don't drive and if worse comes to worse, I'd like to be able to transport Reese and myself there alone if we have to whether in an Uber or a Lyft)

This is something I've been struggling with for days, trying to get the words out, but I felt as though I couldn't put it off any longer. To do so would just be a disservice to Reese and my love for her and hers for me.

Thank you.
