A Loving Goodbye for Kristine

On August 11,2025, our world changed forever when my mom, Kristine, passed away. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for over 30 years, three decades of strength, grace, and unshakable faith.

Even with her health challenges, Mom stayed active in her church, which gave her strength through each cancer diagnosis. She enjoyed creating the church newsletter, running the junior and senior high youth groups, and telling unforgettable stories during vacation bible school. People I’ve grown up with have told me that some of their fondest childhood memories are of her stories, her laughter, and her ability to make every single person feel like they belonged. She also had a gift for giving her own crocheted crafts, including blankets, hats, scarves, and anything else that came to mind. She started a craft group at her church, which primarily focused on hats for premature babies, lap blankets for the homebound and hospice patients, and hats and scarves for the homeless community. After her first granddaughter was born, she began making stuffed octopuses for babies in the Cardiac Care Units at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She never wanted recognition; she simply saw a need and quietly filled lt. Kris acted like everyone's mom and grandma. If you came over, there was always food, a drink in your hand, and the feeling that you were loved. She made her home - and her heart - open to everyone.

Until the last couple years, Kris has always been involved in some sort of volunteer opportunity. She donated much of her time to the office of her church, working on newsletters, bulletins, and other secretarial work. Kris and her husband spent many years with REACT (Radio Emergency Associated Communication Teams), working with local police to direct parking, providing extra security, and even run a rest stop two weekends a year providing a safe place for drivers to pull off and get a cup of coffee or a small snack. As an adolescent, Kristine met her future husband as a part of the Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the United States Airforce.

Kristine led a full life, but her passion in life was her family. She would do anything for her nieces and nephews, but if you asked her, her favorite role was Grammy and GiGi to her two granddaughters, Unfortunately in May of this year, her oldest granddaughter passed away from complications related to her congenital heart defect. Losing her grandbaby was the hardest thing Kris ever had to overcome but she was still the rock for her children and the rest of the family.

Now, as we face the painful task of saying goodbye to Kris barely three months since the death of her granddaughter, we are also faced with the financial burden of her funeral expenses. We want to give her the farewell she deserves - one that reflects the incredible love she poured into others her whole life.

The funds raised will go toward:
• Funeral home services
• Burial/cremation costs
• Memorial service arrangements

She made everyone feel like family. Now it’s our turn to honor her, to give her the beautiful farewell she deserves. Any donation or share helps more than you know. If you can't give financially, please consider sharing this page with others who knew and loved her.

Thank you for helping us honor my mom's memory and give her the dignified goodbye she deserves. – Katrina
