On August 20, 2025, a loving soul, my dad, Alfredo Torres, unexpectedly passed away. Alfredo was an actor, musician, singer, artist, brother, and most importantly, a father. He was a storyteller, a dreamer, and a man who filled every room with laughter. He could make a friend anywhere he went, and he taught me that life is meant to be lived through art, music, and love. Growing up, he would read us his poems, share stories of his life, and sing us to sleep. Even though he was not my biological father and had already separated from my mom, he never once made me feel anything less than his daughter. He introduced me proudly to his friends and family as his oldest, and he always went out of his way to make sure I, my sisters, my mom, and even my stepdad felt included and loved. That was the kind of man he was. Some of my happiest memories are sitting in the car with him, singing Billy Joel’s “Tiny Dancer” or Maná at the top of our lungs. As a little girl, I loved watching him on stage at his art shows and plays, I was always so proud to call him my dad.
Unfortunately, we are struggling financially. I just started school, my stepdad recently lost his job, and my mom is doing her best to support our family. We want nothing more than to honor Alfredo’s life with a proper farewell. Our hope is to have a service here in California, surrounded by the people who loved him, and then bring him home to Mexico so he can rest with his family. We are asking for support to help cover these costs. Our goal is to raise $9,000 to make this possible. Any donation, no matter the size, is a blessing. Even sharing this page means more to us than words can say. I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye, and helping us reach this goal would give me and my family the chance to do so with love. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this time.
With much love,
