A loving Father of 5 in need

Hi, my name is Jessica and I am fundraising for my husband, Rick and our family. Rick has recently been diagnosed with a sodium deficiency that has floored our family. His health conditions caused him to have seizures when his sodium levels drop dangerously low, causing a recent hospital stay where he had to be placed on a seizure watch after learning he suffered from a heart attack. Because of his health problems, he is no longer able to obtain his DOT medical card to drive semi-trucks, which was how he provided for our family. When he learned he could not do this anymore he tried every way he could to get a job to provide for our children. We thought everything was going to be alright when he got hired as a

service writer with the promise of becoming a shop manager at a local dealership, but he was deemed "too unhealthy" for the job. I am currently driving for Uber, but with his Dr appointments and taking care of the children and the house, making ends meet is a challenge. We are now facing a 3-day notice from our landlord who is ready to file for eviction, our car financing company is ready to repossess our car which is the only way we are making money right now. I am driving for uber because that is the only job I can get with the flexibility to ensure I get Rick to his doctor's appointments throughout the week. Rick will be going in for neck surgery soon with a long and painful recovery.

First off, I want to thank everyone for donating. You all have no idea what that meant to us, we were able to pay rent, electricity & water, our car loan, and get a new internet service that is more in our price range so that our 2 children still in school can continue to be home-schooled. I was going to wait to post an official update until Rick sees the neurosurgeon on Tuesday, June 20th, but with me just getting diagnosed with Covid, I am not sure that they are going to see him. When Rick went to do the final imaging before being set up for surgery, it was an MRI, they found a mass on his brain that is located on his pituitary gland pushing on his optic nerve. He went in last Thursday to do an MRI with and without contrast and it has been declared a tumor. At this stage they do not know whether it is cancerous, I am praying it is not. Now more than ever we are going to need all the help we can get, and appreciate everything from everyone.
