It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved “Nino” Ruben Romero. Ruben recently underwent a complex heart surgery that we all hoped would give him a second chance at health. Sadly, due to unexpected complications, he passed away shortly after.

To Ruben, family was everything. Although he never married or had children of his own, he didn’t need to his nieces and nephews were like his own children. He lived with a thankful heart and shared his love and faith with everyone he met, whether in person, through social media, or through his signature tortillas.

Ruben made his own arrangements and left clear wishes. However, as we navigate this difficult time, the “little things” and final logistics costs are adding up quickly. We are asking for support to help cover these remaining expenses and give him the beautiful farewell he deserves.

His final message to us the day before his surgery was: “I’ll see you all on the other side… si Dios quiere… God willing.” We find comfort in knowing he is at peace.
