Hello, my name is Kaitlyn and my Grandmother, Kathleen Helms, or as many knew her and she preferred, Momma Helms, suddenly passed away peacefully today, 3/11/26. She was the most beautiful and amazing person a family could have ever hoped to receive. She was always there for anyone, no matter the day, no matter the problem. She ALWAYS was there, whether to listen, give advice, or just let you express yourself. She was there. She was a major role in mine and my children’s lives.

Momma was not feeling well Friday and requested we let her “sleep it off.” What ended up as an ER trip turned into the most heartbreaking and tearful goodbye. I held the hand of the woman who gave me so much and never ever batted an eyelash for it back.

My grandmother didn’t have great insurance, so most, if not all, of her medical stay as well as her final wishes will need to be paid out of pocket. I’m asking family, friends, strangers, and loved ones to please just keep us in your prayers. We appreciate any help anyone may be able to extend as we move forward to lay our family’s most precious member to rest. Thank you.
