A Loving Farewell for Marlo Hardiman

My name is Paul, and I’m the oldest son of Marlo Hardiman. It breaks my heart to say that our mom unexpectedly passed away May 26, 2026 in Colton, Ca, and our family is doing our best to process this loss and give her a proper farewell.
If you knew our mom, you knew she wasn’t perfect by any means. However, she did have a soft spot for those in need. To be honest, I would say too soft at times. She was the type of person who took in random people who needed a place to land, and she could spark up a conversation with just about anyone. She also seemed to always find herself in a predicament, which led to a funny story later on. She was a tough lady for her size—she would throw hands if she needed to, even if the person was bigger than her. She was also a good cook; everyone always complimented her food, but if I’m being honest, I think she was good at cooking because she liked to eat. The day before she passed, she text me a photo of her new dog, and I replied “she’s ugly”. Her reply was, “she is, but she’s good. This is your new lil sissy.” I forgot to text her back, but I wish I would have.
Marlo was a mom, grandma, sister, and friend. She leaves behind 6 children and 6 grandchildren who are all feeling this loss in their own way. Our relationship had its up and downs over the years, and we didn’t always communicate as often as we should, but I loved her.
Her passing was sudden, and we were not prepared for the funeral and related expenses. She did not have life insurance, and the costs have fallen on our family. We hope to hold her memorial service in the next couple of weeks, especially as I may be deploying soon and want to make sure we are able celebrate her life before then. Any amount you’re able to give, big or small, will make a difference and help ease the financial strain during an already stressful time.
On behalf of our entire family, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us in any way you can.

With love,
Marlo’s kids
