My name is Gabriela Leticia Reveles. This fundraiser is for my mother, who just passed away. Her name is Leticia Reveles. Not only was she a mother but a wife and a friend to many. A strong, bold woman who fought for many years and stayed motivated for life, always with a smile. My hero. Many of us knew her in some way, and many didn’t get to meet her, but for those who didn’t get to meet her, I can tell you a little bit more about her. My mother got sick at a very young age, went completely blind when she was 36, and had 10 surgeries on each eye. Over time, she only gained vision back in one.

Years passed, and she landed in the hospital with pneumonia. She was on dialysis for 15 years. There never was a dull moment with her. Even more recently, in January, she was hospitalized due to swelling in her spine and lost mobility from the knees down. The hardest part for me was to take her to a rehab home, leaving her with strangers whom I didn’t know if I could trust. But over time, she developed friendships and people that cared for her so much. Unfortunately, on November 21, she developed an infection which made her decide between doing a surgery or letting go. After proceeding with surgery, she came out of it alive but unfortunately had lots of complications. My mom was my everything, and it’s hard imagining my life without her, but I know she is resting at peace now.

Family is the most precious thing anyone can ask for. Cherish your loved ones as much as you can and make memories. My mother did, no matter what; she managed to smile. She had such a beautiful soul. I’m asking for help to do a proper funeral for her and would really appreciate it.
