On the morning of February 23rd, 2026, what should have just been another ordinary day, our beloved brother, Kou Vang, passed away suddenly from a heart attack. There were no warning signs, no time given for hopeful expectation, and no gentle preparation for the devastating news of our now reality. The shock of losing him so unexpectedly has left our family heartbroken and trying to understand a loss that feels impossible.
Kou was only 32 years old and the middle child between us siblings. After earning his Bachelor’s in IT in 2017, he went on to complete an Associate’s degree in Web and System Development, which he completed in 2025. He loved sharing his passion for coding, even though we often didn't have a clue what he was talking about. Our brother was a sensible son, a loving uncle, and a loyal friend. He adored his nieces and nephews so much to the point of never raising his voice and never missing a chance to show up for the people he cared about. He was humble, thoughtful, and always willing to help, even when he had little to give. If something needed to be done, he was the one who stayed behind to make sure it was taken care of. If you knew Kou, you remember his goofy smile and his warm laughter.
Kou is survived by his loving mom and dad, his step-parents who cared for him deeply, his two brothers and two sisters, and his amazing nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many friends and extended family members whose lives were made brighter because of him. There are no words to explain what his absence has left in our lives.
Because his passing was so sudden, Kou did not have financial arrangements in place. We are now facing unexpected funeral and memorial expenses during an already devastating time. We are hoping to raise funds to cover funeral services and related costs so we can lay our brother to rest and give Kou the respectful farewell he deserves.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease this burden and allow our family to focus on grieving, honoring his life, and supporting one another. If you are unable to give, sharing this page and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time. We will carry Kou’s memory with us always.
