Jamal was a wonderful person and a light to everyone around him. He loved food, watching videos on his iPad, and hanging out with his family. He was diagnosed with non-verbal autism at a young age, and that didn’t stop him from working, graduating, and making lifelong memories with family and friends.

Jamal was known for his laugh and smile. He is loved by his family very much.

In 2023, Jamal was placed at a facility where he received additional help and support. He was still at his family’s house every week for dinners, holidays, and special times.

Jamal had long been diagnosed with diabetes, and on January 18th, Jamal’s care facility noticed that his blood sugar was elevated and he looked uncomfortable. He was quickly taken to the hospital and was put in a medicated coma while being prepped for surgery. Unfortunately, before that happened, Jamal passed away at 23 while still at the hospital. His loss has left family and friends heartbroken. We’re still waiting for the medical examiner’s report for the exact cause.

He is survived by his mother, Chenise Clarke; his grandmother, Valerie Clarke; his aunt, Shawna Clarke; and his great-grandmother, Vera. We are raising money to cover his funeral expenses to ensure he’s cared for. We truly appreciate your prayers and support.
