This is not how my family and I ever imagined spending our holidays, and it is something I would not wish on anyone. In the span of one heartbreaking week, we found ourselves planning funeral arrangements for both my aunt and my mother.

What began as a routine hospital visit quickly turned into my mother, Cornelia, fighting for her life with a strength I have never seen before. After spending two weeks in the ICU, my mother passed away surrounded by the people who loved her most.

My mother spent the majority of her life helping others, and now I humbly ask for help on her behalf. With the holidays already placing a strain on so many, I understand how difficult this timing is, but any donation—no matter the amount—would greatly help our family lay her to rest in the way she deserves.
