In early November, our beloved cousin Christopher Atencio admitted himself to the ER after suffering from a lingering cough. During his hospital stay, doctors discovered that Chris had high-grade B-cell lymphoma. Over the following weeks, despite the chemo, his condition rapidly worsened, with the cancer spreading to his spine and the outer lining of his brain.

After exhausting all possible options, doctors determined that Chris would not recover. Surrounded by love, Chris made the incredibly difficult decision to be taken off life support.

Chris’s life was marked by kindness, strength, and selflessness. He was the person our family leaned on during hard times—the steady shoulder, the caring heart, the one who always showed up when it mattered most.

Chris lost his mother, Cerina Atencio, unexpectedly at a young age. Now, his family is deeply committed to reuniting Christopher with his mom so they can finally rest together. Unfortunately, no prior burial arrangements were made, leaving our family with overwhelming and unexpected funeral and burial expenses.
