It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our beloved sister, Shallot Forbia, lovingly known to many as Chef Shallot, Shasha Baby, Shushu, and Masha.

Shallot was born on August 2, 1979, and she unexpectedly passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, due to complications from pneumonia and a brain aneurysm. Her passing was sudden and has left our family, friends, and the entire community in deep shock and heartbreak.

Shallot was more than a sister, a friend, or a business owner, she was a light. A pure soul with a gentle heart and an infectious warmth. She was the CEO and heart behind Tropical Tasty Kitchen, where she poured love, passion, and excellence into every meal she prepared. Her food brought people together, but it was her spirit that truly touched lives.

Within the Forney–Heartland community, Chef Shallot was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for people. She fed families, supported community events, uplifted others, and made everyone feel welcome. She didn’t just cook food, she created comfort, joy, and connection.

Shallot was deeply loved by so many, and her passing has left an unimaginable void. As we navigate this painful and unexpected loss, we are asking for the support of her family, friends, customers, supporters, and everyone whose life she touched, to help us give her a beautiful and befitting homegoing celebration, one that reflects the love she gave so freely and the legacy she leaves behind.
