It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my father-in-law, Carlos Heredia.

Carlos was a great husband, father, grandpa, and friend who leaves a hole in our hearts that words cannot describe.

He was a man who was always accepting of what life threw his way, and not once did he complain about his health struggles (kidney failure, liver failure, liver cancer, losing his eyesight, and many more health issues sadly).

Although his cancer wasn’t something new to us, we held on to the high hopes that he would receive a double organ transplant within the next 6 months (as he had gone through many tests and scans prior) and things were really looking up for him.

It all seemed possible. But last month, we received the heartbreaking news that his cancer had spread to his lungs, bile ducts, and stomach, making him no longer eligible for a transplant. Just weeks later, doctors told us there was nothing more they could do, and what was supposed to be weeks or months that we had left with him ended up being days.

As we try to process this heartbreaking loss, we are asking for help to give Carlos the proper burial and farewell he deserves. Any donation, prayer, or share means more to our family than words can express.
