A Loving Farewell for Aunt Theresa

The Do-Wop in the Sky gained a new Bopper and gave her wings. It is with heavy hearts that I announce the untimely passing of my sister Theresa, and everyone’s Aunt. She took her last breath on June 17, 2025, at 3:21 pm, with my great-niece, Gina, by her side. My sister has been in and out of nursing homes for the past 8 years, with the guiding heart of Gina overlooking her care, which has been my saving grace.

With that being said, I was not prepared for this loss and the accompanying funeral costs. We want to give her a dignified and heartfelt send-off that she deserves, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming for us during this already challenging time.

Now that the time has come to say our final farewell to our beloved Theresa, I am hoping you all can help me give her the special send-off she deserves. Being her only living sibling, I unfortunately cannot do this alone, which is why I am now turning to all who loved her as well. Just know, in advance, how much I appreciate any assistance you can offer during this time of mourning and remembrance for our wonderful Theresa.

We found a funeral home that will also provide a small service with a Deacon from the local church, St. Barbara’s. And, as per my sister's wishes, she will be cremated. The wake will be held next Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the San Juan Funeral Home, 317 Central Ave, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11221. Viewing hours will be contingent on how much will be donated, with a prayer service at the end.

Addendum: The hours of viewing for Aunt Theresa’s wake tomorrow will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The priest will be saying the blessing and prayers at 6:30pm.
