My name is Yvette Watkins, I am a 62-year-old single mother of two boys 12 years apart in age.
My son Michael D. Hunter was the youngest and had just turned 24 in February. He and I have resided in St Louis for most of his life, where we have witnessed and personally been touched by senseless violence within our community. We were incredibly close and talked several times a day, ending our conversations with "I love you and I love you more. "
Just coming into manhood he was an aspiring wrapper, ambitious and loving. He always dreamed of owning a Doge Charger! Michael was determined to overcome his lifes challenges, better himself and relocate to a safer environment out of state by the end of this year.
Unfortunately, Michael's dreams were cut short when he became a statistic of the violent crime in St. Louis. On Friday, July 10, 2026, he was shot EIGHT times while riding public transportation called "Metro Bus". Michael did not know the man who shot him.
I never imagined that I would have to face such a difficult challenge in my lifetime. The devastation of this crime has changed my life forever, and is beyond words for me!l
I am seeking help to give Michael the farewell he deserves, his final life expenses, family therapy for his older brother and myself, also to help assist me through lifes responsibilities as I grieve his tragic death.
Your donations will be greatly appreciated and never forgotten.
My heart and soul have been shattered forever!
Love you forever Mikey Mike!!
