A LOSS LIKE NO OTHER

Hi my name is Megan, I have created this go fund me for my mum and dad who have had a loss like no other.
Christmas eve we lost someone so dear to our family our JJ. A child who was born with many health issue such as cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia (dead spot on his brain), spastic quadriplegia, epilepsy, peg feed, non verbal, wheelchair bound and a tumor on his brain. We knew his life expectancy would be to about 20 years old we never thought we would loose him at just 15.
A little back story about my mum.
My mum started as a disability support worker having Jarrod as a respite every 2nd week, by the 2nd visit Jarrod was placed in mums fulltime care as his paternal parent had signed their rights over to mum.
Stopping the full time work to now raise Jarrod, me, my brother and my sick dad.
Without asking for help she did it so gracefully. A few years later another child was placed into mums fulltime care. taking on the role of a foster mum to this kids that needed love, guidance and a forever safe home. Not long after they had asked her to take another, a baby this time a fresh new born so that was 3 foster children as well as her own.
As a family we grew. making memories for these kids that come from nothing to having everything a kid needs and wants.
Being a foster parent comes with all the perks but also some heart ache, the second was leaving to be with his paternal mother who had done everything right to get her boy back, as quickly as the kids got use to this big family life one by one we had to say goodbye. Now leaving 2. Remember that new baby he's now 6 never knowing the reality of fostering, his best friend was leaving, already dealing with his own mental health issues like ASD and ADHD he couldn't comprehend why, why his brother was leaving and he wasn't.
Knowing we would have Jarrod and the baby regardless of fostering and the way it works, we carried on as a family.
Dealing with the reality of one child gone we received some more bad news with my dads health. Already facing health issue with his diabetes and heart condition we were told he now had lung cancer. all while my mum had secretly found lumps in her breast.
Dads operation was then booked for the 22nd of December 2021 to remove the lower left lobe of his lung . Then mum was then booked the following day to have her lumps removed and tested coming home that same day.
Now its Christmas Eve 24th of December mums and I had gone to visit dad at the hospital, which leaving my best friend home to watch the boys and Jarrod in his bed asleep at home. not even 15 minutes later my best friend calls saying she thinks Jarrod had passed away. She started CPR, As the words I think he has passed raced through our minds we turned the car around and headed home.
Pulling in the driveway to a critical care team and 2 ambulances they were trying to save him, doing all they could, it wasn't enough our JJ had grew his angel wings due to his on going health conditions.
Sad and confused mum held her son for the last time. All while dad was in hospital unware of what had happened. Someone had to tell him personally, so me being the eldest went to inform our dad Jarrod had passed away. Not seeing his son since leaving home on the 22nd for his operation.
Now its time to plan a funeral and the extra cost that come along also.
The cost for his funeral are quite heavy for us as a family being so unexpected and right on Christmas. We are asking for any help to give our JJ the send off he deserves and help mum and dad with every day cost as well as a car to get their other son around and dad to his continuous treatments and hospital trips. As the car they now have will be taken as it was the car that came with Jarrod while they grieve and get use to the world without there beloved son Jarrod.
Every dollar counts and will be gratefully appreciated
much love
