A Long Walk for Toby and Jo Hutchings
Donation protected
Most of you probably know that Joanne Hutchings has been off for a few months recently caring for her son Toby. He had an operation to remove a cyst from his back that had grown quickly. It was a tricky operation as it was located next to the bottom of his spinal cord.
Following the operation in October 2023, 19 year old Toby has never fully recovered and has required care from Jo since the moment he left hospital. Jo has recently been able to return to work and it is great to see her back, however Toby continues to deteriorate. He has been to approximately 100 different appointments but shows no signs of improvement. He really struggles to walk and is in constant pain thought to be caused by damage to the spinal cord/nerve.
To help support Jo, a team of us are taking on a 26 mile walk near Pateley Bridge on Saturday 21st September to help raise funds for private care or equipment which may help Toby and Jo's lives becomes a little easier during this difficult time, and make life a little more manageable.
Any support you could give would be greatly appreciated.
