A local struggling family

A Personal Plea from Chaim Sherer

Dear Friends,

As someone deeply involved in many community initiatives, I’m often approached when there seems to be no hope left. Today, I write to you on behalf of a very special family—one I know personally, and one I can vouch for wholeheartedly.

This is a sincere, hardworking family who, despite their tireless efforts, are struggling to cover even their most basic daily needs. Now, they face the heartbreaking reality that they cannot afford to send their daughter to seminary.

We’ve all seen how a year in seminary or yeshiva can shape a young person’s future—building character, deepening values, and setting them on a path of growth and purpose. This young woman deserves that same opportunity. She has the potential, the drive, and the sincerity—we just need to help her get there.

As we enter the holy month of Elul, a time for reflection, compassion, and preparation, I turn to you with a heartfelt request: please open your heart and your hand to help this family carry their burden.
