Our mother, Deborah, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2023. She was a loving, kind, and devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She loved nature, flowers, and peaceful parks. She was always happiest when she was surrounded by the beauty of the natural world. Over the years she expressed to me that upon her death, she would like some of her ashes to be sprinkled in the beautiful blooming flower fields in Switzerland, a country she liked very much.
To honor my mother’s love for nature and to keep her close to our family, my sisters and I are raising money to adopt park benches and plant trees in Los Angeles and New York. Each city has a special meaning to us. Los Angeles is where my mother and all of her children - Amanda, Aaron, Emilie and I - were born and raised. The majority of our family, including Amanda and her son, still live in L.A. I live in New York and very often on the weekends, I'd take Mom on walks with me through Central Park via FaceTime.
Memorializing Mom in this way will allow her family on each coast the opportunity to spend time with her in two peaceful places that she loved. Mom always wanted our family to remain close to one another no matter how far away we were from home and each other.
Any amount you donate will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to contribute at this time, please share with others in your community.
Thank you for your support.
