A Little Too Lit: Banks and Jackie's Fire Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and Fellow Small Business Owners,

We never imagined we’d find ourselves in this position. A fire recently broke out in our basement, and it has turned our lives upside down. The fire not only destroyed all of the machines used to run our small business; but it also melted water pipes, took out part of our HVAC system, and damaged electrical wiring severe enough that our local fire department had to pull our meter.

As a result, we, along with our three pups, are temporarily displaced and unsure when we’ll be able to return home. The future of our business is uncertain, and we’re heartbroken at the thought of possibly not reopening.

While we’re working with insurance to recover what we can, the costs of the fire have left us with significant deductibles and other unexpected living expenses related to essentially starting over. We know many of you understand the unpredictable challenges that small business owners face. Even the smallest contribution would mean the world to us, as it will go directly toward covering these deductibles and would help us (eventually) return to some sort of normalcy.

We hate reaching out for help, but we appreciate those who have encouraged us to post this and have stood by us so far.
