A little support for our best supporting actor...

Hello. Our friend J. R. Stuart has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He has made this public on social media, so it is known in the various communities in which J. R. lives.

He has been friend to so many of us and--more than that--a supporter and cheerleader. In his life, his work, his friendships, he has shown himself to be a humble and good man. With that humility comes a reticence to discuss such vulgar topics as money.

For all of us who have asked "how can we help?" money is a way that can help. J.R. will be treated in at least two calendar years, meaning two deductibles and co-insurance costs, plus there will be some loss of income due to treatment schedules.

If he is able to rest easy knowing that the bills will be paid, surely he can concentrate on his treatment and recovery.

The amount we are hoping to achieve certainly won't allow J. R. to retire, but it will allow him to continue with his life and work secure in the knowledge that he is part of a community that cares for one another, especially in the hard hours.
