Help Us Raise £5,000 for a Geberit Toilet at Cherry Trees

For families like mine, Cherry Trees is so much more than a respite centre. It gives children with severe learning difficulties a safe, welcoming place where they can be cared for, supported and—most importantly—be themselves. It also gives parents and carers something that can feel impossible to find: a little time to breathe, rest and recharge, knowing their child is in safe hands.

We are now hoping to raise £5,000 for Geberit toilet, a specialist toilet that would make a huge difference to the children who use Cherry Trees.

For many of these children, using the toilet independently simply isn’t possible. At the moment, carers may need to provide very personal support with toileting and hygiene. For children who need help after using the toilet, this can mean having someone wipe and clean them when they would much rather have greater privacy and independence.

The Geberit toilet would help change that.

It would provide a more dignified and hygienic way for children to manage their personal care, reducing the amount of intimate assistance they need from carers. It could also make an enormous difference to girls and young women when they have their periods, helping them manage their hygiene with greater dignity and privacy.

£5,000 might sound like a big target, but the difference it could make to these children is enormous.

This isn’t simply about buying a toilet. It’s about giving children dignity, privacy, cleanliness and a little more independence.

It’s about giving parents peace of mind.

And it’s about helping Cherry Trees continue providing the vital respite that means so much to families like ours.
