Hey family, I hope you’re all doing well. I wanted to reach out and share something personal that I’ve been dealing with this year, and I’m asking for help so I can finally get back on my feet.

I’ve been without a car since February, and it’s cost me hundreds of dollars a month just to Lyft to and from work. Last year my insurance suddenly doubled to over $500/month because of “rate increases in my area,” and I couldn’t afford it. I was just a few weeks away from having enough saved to get back on a steady payment plan, but I got pulled over during that gap, and my license was suspended for driving without insurance.

To reinstate it, the state requires me to pay 6 months of insurance upfront, and the lowest quote I’ve received is $4,000.

Not having a car has made working extremely difficult. Some days I had to spend more on rides than I made in a shift, and on top of that, I ended up in a really uncomfortable situation at my old job where certain managers were harassing me and creating an unsafe work environment. I tried to push through while looking for something better, but after almost getting fired for reasons outside my control, I had to cut down my shifts to protect myself. The double shifts that normally paid my bills exposed me to the same issues, so I had to stop working them.

But things are finally turning around. I’ve got a new job now, and I have another opportunity on the way. At this point, the only thing holding me back is getting my license and insurance reinstated so I can drive legally, work consistently, and fully stabilize myself.

If you’re able to help me cover this first insurance payment, it would mean the world to me. Any amount, big or small, would make a real and immediate difference. I’m ready to move forward. I just need a little help to clear this one obstacle.
