A little help in a time of need for Amber Reed❤️

We are friends and family of the Reed Family.

In the past year, the Reed family has been through some difficult health trials.  In the beginning of 2020, Scott suffered a stroke and surgery, and the year ended with Amber also having health issues.

This family is very private, and has not asked for help, but I know that many times friends and family members want to help, but just don’t know how. This Go-Fund-Me page is a way that each of us can help, along with your many prayers.

Next is just a glimpse of what Scott,  Amber and family have been going through:

Amber was diagnosed in October 2020 with a very rare tumor on her right peroneal nerve behind her knee. She had been misdiagnosed with what we thought was an ankle/foot injury sine 2018. Over time it has progressed to partial paralysis from her knee down causing foot drop and severe muscle atrophy has developed making it difficult to walk. In January we were referred to a top surgeon at Washington University in St. Louis. Amber was scheduled for surgery ASAP to remove tumor and graph a nerve from her left upper arm to reconstruct the nerve and restore full function to her foot if nerve was found healthy. Plan B was to allograft with a cadaver nerve if peroneal nerve was beyond repair and/or the tumor section removed exceeded 3-5 mm making it impossible for the nerve to regenerate itself to restore function. This plan includes a secondary surgery called a tendon transfer to pop the foot up and return movement to the foot and regular activity without a AFO brace.
Amber had her surgery on April 6 in St. Louis and tumor was successfully removed and sent for biopsy. The peroneal nerve could not be saved so partial paralysis and muscle atrophy will remain as is and unrepairable. She will have to remain in AFO ankle brace to assist in walking until second surgery can be done (approx. 2 months). Biopsy of the tumor will take 2 weeks but surgeon seemed confident is was benign. We will return to Washington University for the tendon transfer surgery in the future. We had hoped for plan A and full recovery of nerve function but God has a plan for her and we are trusting in Him.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
