Hello kind people,

I am writing to ask for help for my dear sister, Skye Garcia. You may or may not know that she has struggled with trauma and PTSD for a long time, due to traumatic events that happened in her early 20’s. Over our 15 year friendship, she has had long periods of agoraphobia and heightened anxiety. She has spent years unable to leave her home and the pandemic really sealed her door shut. Her dear friend Lindsey was concerned that Skye was living a life of isolation, instead of living in the solution with the supportive community she has built within recovery and at the Castro Country Club.

In the past, she has reached dangerous places, so she committed herself in order to do no harm. She has been in a hospital and safe-space setting for approximately six weeks. Previously, she would just come home at this point, but she is READY TO MAKE LIFELONG CHANGES and she has agreed to go into a treatment program for 4 months.

Why am I asking for help? Although she is blessed to have Kaiser, who will cover the medical part of this program, her room and board are not covered, which is $4300 total ($1k/month + gofundme fees).

If you have the ability and can give, we would all be so grateful. This Gofundme will close when she reaches her goal.
