As some of you may have heard, while staying at their winter home in Texas, Keith O’Day faced a multitude of health problems that have had him hospitalized since before the holidays. He most recently just underwent open heart surgery last week. He is finally out of ICU but will be transferred to another hospital hopefully soon for additional care.
Penny has has been faithfully by his side day after day and while this wonderful couple would never ask for anything, in discussions with her this morning she mentioned that the cost of fuel to get to Keith each day is really starting to become a struggle and she has now begun cutting herself down to two meals a day and waiting until she gets home at night to have a snack. This just breaks my heart. Both Keith and Penny are two of the hardest working and generous people I have ever met and I would like to try and help them out. I have not told them that I am planning on doing this, I am just hoping to be able to send them the money from their BNHP family and let them know how much we all care about them.
If you have ever spent time with them you will know how selfless they are and I hope we can give back. They are always the first to offer you a beer after a long night at work, or grab you a chair to rest in, or just stay late to spend time with you and enjoy our stories. Lets show them some love and support cause they would and have done it for us!
