I’ve set this page up for my amazing best friend Ann Marie and her partner Connor for their beautiful little girl Aubree Rose who has recently been diagnosed with a stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma tumour in her right eye socket. Rhabdomyosarcoma tumour is a rare, malignant soft tissue tumor that develops from muscle cells.
On the 3rd of January they had their worlds completely turned upside down when they were given the devastating news that their little girl has a tumour and that treatment would start almost right away. It has been so full on and non stop for them all, starting with 2 biopsies on her eye, a lumbar puncture and bone marrow tests with even more to follow like MRI’s, Pet scans, CT scans and regular blood tests.
They’ve been back and forth to Great Ormond Street, The Evelina St Thomas hospital, Southampton children’s hospital and Chichester hospital.
As a result of where the tumour is, unfortunately there is no option for it to be removed so she has to undergo very aggressive chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Starting with a huge 54hrs in one weekend, weekly trips to Chichester for her regular chemotherapy. She is half way through her 2nd round of chemotherapy with 8 more weeks to go. Once this difficult stage is over she will then have to embark on a 6 week stint in Great Ormond street for again, very intense sessions of radiotherapy.
Little Aubree is going to be just 2 years old at the end of March, being prodded and poked around, endless amounts of being put to sleep is such a heartbreaking thing as parents, to have to sit back and watch your little baby battle this disease.
Aubree will also potentially need reconstructive surgery on her eye at the end of all of this as currently only has around 50% vision in her right eye.
Any donations big or small will help go towards hospital costs, visits, food, temporary accommodation if & when needed, travelling costs, for Connor to potentially be able to take some time off work to be there during all the treatment and tests, the list is endless. I know that Ann Marie and Connor would be extremely grateful for any little help.
I’ve only seen a snippet of how this awful diagnosis has impacted this whole family, the resilience & strength Aubree has shown is phenomenal, the courage and bravery shown by Ann Marie and her partner Connor and all other extended family is amazing.
So any little donations would be amazing to help little Aubree get back to living the life a 2 year old should be & to kick cancers ass ❤️
