As an older sister, it’s incredibly difficult to put into words what our family is going through right now. Before I tell you the story I would first like to introduce you to my younger brother PJ.
PJ is my youngest sibling of only 7 years old. He is full of life and his favourite things to do are to ride his bike, play on his IPad and act silly to make everyone in our family laugh.
Almost 5 weeks ago PJ was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia know as ALL Leukaemia T-Cell, which is a fast-growing, aggressive type of blood cancer that starts in immature white blood cells. It is a rare cancer, making up about 12% to 15% of all childhood cases. It is more common in boys than girls.
PJ is currently undergoing treatment consisting of chemo put into the spine through lumber punctures to travel to and protect the brain, IV chemotherapy, injection chemotherapy, bone marrow sample’s taken, daily steroids and many more which will take place over the next 2 years - our main focus is being there for him every step of the way.
As you can imagine because of his treatment he has had some good days where he is awake and asking for McDonalds for dinner and asking to go for a ride on his bike and other days not so good caused by sickness, tiredness and constant pain. He has also started loosing his hair which has made this experience even more real not just for our entire family but also PJ himself.
His treatment means frequent visits and long journeys to Leeds General hospital where the specialist paediatric oncology team is based, along with the many unexpected costs that come with supporting him through this challenging time. We are raising funds to help with travel expenses, accommodation, meals, and other essential support while he continues his treatment and recovery.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean more to our family than we can possibly express. Every contribution will help ease some of the financial pressure and allow us to focus on what matters most — supporting my little brother and helping him through this fight.
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page, sending a kind message, or keeping him in your thoughts would also mean so much to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for any support you’re able to give. ❤️
