What’s up everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read my story.
On September 13th, my life took an unexpected and painful turn while doing simple outdoor activities, I completely tore my Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in my right knee.
For those who may not know, an ACL tear is a major, debilitating injury that requires reconstructive surgery and months of intensive physical therapy to heal completely. I'm facing a long road to recovery, and unfortunately, it comes with a steep financial burden.
This injury has significantly impacted my life. I am a warehouse worker and material handler for Lucid Motors, and the recovery time for ACL surgery is extensive. I've been told I will be out of work for at least 9-12 months while I recover and complete physical therapy.
Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs are overwhelming, and losing my income for this period has made it nearly impossible for me to manage the bills associated with this unexpected accident.
My goal of $3000 will go directly toward covering the most pressing costs of this injury and my recovery. Specifically, the funds will be used for:
Surgical Expenses: Deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs for the ACL reconstruction surgery.
Physical Therapy: Weeks/months of crucial rehabilitation to ensure I can walk and live pain-free again.
Loss of Income: Covering essential living expenses like rent, groceries, and utilities while I am unable to work.
Medical Equipment: Items like a brace, crutches, and mobility aids.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help me focus on my physical recovery instead of stressing about bills.
I know times are tough for everyone, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this. If you can't donate, please consider sharing this link with your friends, family, and social networks. Spreading the word is a huge help!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, support, and generosity during this challenging time. One thing that really eats at me is being unable to PROVIDE like a father should. I can't wait to share updates on my recovery and get back to simple things like running, playing with the kids, playing basketball, and even taking a shower without grimacing.
With deepest gratitude, Patrick Perez
