At the end of 2022, our lives changed with more love and strength than we ever knew possible. My sister welcomed not one, but two little tots into the world in May of 2023. Born at 1lb 6oz and 2lb 5oz, these babies were warriors since their very first breath! With Baby B spending over 120 days in the NICU and Baby A over 260 days, the girls were faced with many challenges and obstacles from the very beginning. From breathing tubes to X-rays, blood work and echos, IV’s, feeding intolerances, procedures, and eye exams (just to name a few), the girls always came out on top; stronger than the day before. They both proved their strength day after day no matter what challenge came their way, which is how we got to where we are today!

Fast forward, the girls just celebrated their 2nd birthday in May which is nothing shy of a miracle! However, being a premie still comes with many challenges.

To know Faith (Twin A- Tot) is to know she is a fighter, with being the smaller of the two. With a smile that will melt your heart and a laugh that is contagious, she has been faced with numerous challenges along the way. Although mighty as ever, she was faced with yet another obstacle. This week she underwent major open heart surgery at UPMC Children’s Hospital lasting 8 hours to repair one artery, one vein and also a hole in her heart. Surgery was extensive and will require a long hospital stay while she recovers.

With surgery being a success, Faith will need to continue to be monitored at Children’s Hospital to get her strong enough to return home and watch for any complications that may arise. We are now asking for all of your prayers and support on her road to recovery! Big or small, any contribution during this journey will help with the many financial burdens placed upon her family during this difficult and uncertain time. Whether it is a coffee, a “hang in there” text, an act of hope, or your thoughts and prayers, your willingness to help means everything!

Faith will now have a “permanent zipper” which is yet another reminder of how brave and strong she is at just 2 years old to go through such a life changing surgery. Though she is a fighter and is nothing short of brave, her family is asking for all the support that they can get! We are asking if anyone wants to contribute to this little heart warrior and her road to recovery, we would be forever grateful.
