A little goes a long way for our Roman
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sian and I’m fundraising for my nephew, brother and sister- in-law. A month ago my nephew was rushed into hospital after suffering from several seizures. He has since been diagnosed with meningitis and has undergone several surgeries including a lumbar drain and a procedure to drain fluid from an abscess on his brain.
Roman has received the most incredible medical treatment in the last month and this means he is now at the beginning of his journey of rehabilitation. The main reason his treatment has been so amazing is because he is at a children’s hospital in Bordeaux, France which is nearly an hour and a half drive from their home in Duras. My brother and sister-in-law want to be the best and most supportive versions of themselves when they are with Roman, so they have been swapping over and making this journey to Bordeaux everyday.
Roman is currently in a constant surveillance ward but there is talk in the near future of him moving to a rehabilitation centre. One of which could be nearly 4 hours away from their home.
My brother is never one to ask for help so I’ve chosen to ask on his behalf. At the moment he is not working and neither is my sister-in-law and the cost of travel is understandably wracking up. In France, not only are they experiencing the cost of fuel but they have many expensive motorway tolls that they have to go through each time. Not to mention hospital parking charges.
Roman deserves the best possible care for his recovery - he is incredibly missed by his rugby team and is desperate to return to the bundle of crazy energy we all love and adore.
All that I ask is if you could be so kind as to donate whatever you’re able to to support my brother and sister-in-law with their constant travel costs. Anything, no matter how small would be greatly received and appreciated by us all.
Thank you
