Help Kristie and Her Children Through Unimaginable Loss and Illness

My name is Michelle, and I have had the privilege of calling Kristie my friend for 42 years. She is one of the most loving, generous, and genuinely funny people I know — the kind of person who shows up for everyone, no matter what.

On the morning of April 27th, Kristie’s life changed forever. Her beloved husband, Phil, passed away suddenly at just 46 years old. He was the heart of their family and the sole provider. His loss has left Kristie and their three children not only grieving deeply, but facing overwhelming financial uncertainty. Phil did not have life insurance, and the family had no savings to fall back on.

As devastating as this is, Kristie is also in the middle of her own serious health battle. In 2024, she was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma. Just days before Phil’s passing, doctors discovered a new mass. She is now navigating profound grief while also facing the reality of advanced cancer and the treatment ahead.

We are raising funds to support Kristie and her children during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go directly toward essential living expenses including rent, groceries, gas, bills, supplements, and helping her son Anderson continue participating in sports, which are an important source of stability and normalcy during such a painful time.

Gift cards for groceries, gas, restaurants, and food delivery services are also deeply appreciated and welcomed.

Kristie’s greatest priority has always been being a present, loving mother. Right now, her children need her more than ever — and she deserves the space to focus on her health and her family without the added burden of financial stress.

If you are local and unable to donate financially, support through meals, errands, school pickups, or help around the home would mean so much to the family.

Kristie is also currently looking for administrative work. If anyone in the Oshawa area knows of local admin job opportunities, please reach out to her directly.

Thank you for surrounding Kristie and her children with love, compassion, and support during this unimaginable time.
