Xander is our sweet grey boy who isn’t even a year old yet. He’s the kind of kitten who should be worrying about toys and naps — not fighting a medical emergency.
Due to sudden, severe stress from an unexpected need to relocate for a day, Xander developed a life-threatening urinary blockage, something especially dangerous for young male cats. He is currently hospitalized, receiving intensive care including catheterization, IV fluids, pain management, and ongoing monitoring to protect his kidneys and help his bladder heal. The vets have been wonderful, and Xander is showing signs of improvement, but he still has a road to recovery ahead.
At home, he is deeply missed. Even Onyx, our older cat who usually prefers her space, seems to be waiting for him to come back. His absence has changed the feel of the house in a way we never expected.
Xander is a sweet, chaotic little gremlin with curiosity bigger than his body. He gets into everything while meowing to let us know what he's up to, makes us laugh daily, and shows love in his own goofy, unmistakable way. He’s still figuring out the world and such a loving boy, and it’s heartbreaking to see such a young, vibrant spirit sidelined by something so serious.
Emergency veterinary care comes with overwhelming costs, and alongside regular cost-of-living expenses, this has become more than we can manage alone. We’re asking for help so Xander can continue receiving the care he needs, come home safely when he’s ready, and recover without financial pressure cutting his treatment short.
Every donation, share, or kind word helps more than we can express. Xander has his whole life ahead of him, and he deserves the chance to heal, grow, and get back to being exactly who he is.
Thank you for reading, caring, and supporting Xander during one of the hardest moments of his young life.
