My dad and your friend, David Hartman, has been diagnosed with stage IV metastatic prostate cancer. It is a grim diagnosis that is causing a great deal of pain for our family and friends.
You may know David as a friend, a dog-lover, an entrepreneur, and a jack-of-all trades. No matter how you know him, you'll know he is a happy positive-outlook kind of guy and I'm glad to say that this demeanor continues. In otherwise dark days, he finds a way to make light of his situation and believes good days are ahead.
Good days are ahead, but getting here has been difficult. A year ago we received the initial diagnosis of prostate cancer. At the time, the cancer was, in the words of his doctor "relatively mild". We were hopeful that radiation treatment would be successful and in August 2020, it appeared like he was out of the woods and the cancer had gone into remission. Unfortunately, with his latest diagnosis, there has been a horrible turn for the worst. We've sought alternative treatment options and multiple opinions, but luck has not been on our side. Today, our hope is that through continued treatment his life may be extended for as long as possible.
We are creating this GoFundMe to help alleviate the medical expenses, costs of treatment, and to help him move into the next phase of his life.
