Our sweet daughter Abby is 12 years old and was born with a rare muscle disease called Central Core Myopathy. Because of her disease, Abby is wheelchair dependent and unable to walk. She relies on her parents and nurse for all of her daily care, including transfers, bathing, and using the bathroom.
Abby is the strongest and most loving little girl, and we have always done everything possible to give her a safe, comfortable, and happy life. We even built our home to accommodate her wheelchair and long-term needs, knowing there is currently no cure for her condition.
As Abby has grown, lifting and transferring her has become physically overwhelming. Over the years, the constant lifting has taken a serious toll on my back, and I am now in physical therapy because of it. We are desperately in need of a ceiling Hoyer lift system that would safely help move Abby from her bed to her wheelchair, bath, and toilet while also protecting the health of those caring for her every day.
Unfortunately, we do not qualify for grants or assistance programs because we are considered over the income limit, even though the rising cost of living, medical needs, and building an accessible home have placed a heavy financial burden on our family.
We are humbly asking for help to purchase this lift system for Abby. This equipment would make such a life-changing difference for her safety, comfort, and dignity, while also helping protect our backs so we can continue caring for her the way she deserves.
If you are able to donate, share, or simply keep our family in your prayers, we would be deeply grateful. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving Abby the care and support she needs.
Thank you for loving and supporting our girl.
