Love Muffin graced me with her presence at the NEKO cat cafe until she was promoted to lead house cat in my own home, when I recently admitted she was the Love of my life. Love Muffin, LM for short, is not only my precious dainty house cat, but my emotional support animal as well; she sits on my shoulders and licks my face, acting as my biggest support through panic attacks, depressive episodes, and PTSD flashbacks. This one tiny little soul has helped in more ways than is humanly comprehendible.
Now it's my turn to try everything I can to help her. On November 22nd, vets at Urban Animal found a mass in LM's chest and fluid surrounding her lungs. Due to her FeLV+ status, it was presumed to be cancerous. On November 25th, LM visited an oncologist at Blue Pearl where they discovered a heart murmur as well and recommended sampling the fluid and mass to determine whether the cause of the mass and fluid was truly cancer or possibly something such as heart disease. Currently on steroids to prolong her health, we only have about a month left with her.
We thought we activated LM's Trupanion insurance in the nick of time. However, due to how soon after the activation the symptoms began, Trupanion will not cover the costs of any medical bills related to the fluid and mass. Sampling the mass and fluid will run anywhere from $700-$1400 depending on what doctors are able to sample, as well as exam fees on top of that.
It is for this reason that Love Muffin and I are pleading you, friends, family, and her biggest NEKO fans for your help. Please help me find out what's wrong with my baby girl. Love has done so much for me, it's only right I reach out to you to see if I can do more for her as well. I juggle work and school full-time and am already several hundred into vet bills, attempting to save my baby. Any funds donated will go immediately to the sampling procedure. If funds are not raised in time for the sampling procedure, everything will be used to provide Love with whatever health care will keep her comfortable until her time.
