Hi, my name is Brigette Curd. I’ve been living with epilepsy for over 10 years, and it has taken away much of my independence. I can’t be home alone, drive, take baths or swim unattended, or fully pursue my career as a medical assistant.
I previously tried to train my own service dog, and she did wonderfully. Unfortunately, she didn’t pass the public access training required to become a certified service dog.
This time, I need help to work with a professional organization that trains shelter dogs to become service dogs. With a trained service dog, I will be able to:
• Drive safely and confidently
• Take baths, shower, and swim without supervision
• Be home alone safely
• Manage daily tasks with more independence, like cooking, cleaning, and shopping
• Attend social events and appointments without fear
• Return to work in healthcare as a medical assistant
• Travel safely and confidently in public spaces
The cost of a professionally trained service dog is high, but the independence and safety it will give me are priceless. Your support will help me regain my freedom, confidence, and ability to live a full life.
Thank you so much for considering helping me reach this goal!
