Assist Slayter in Finding His Canine Guardian

Donation protected
Hello, we are Ray and Renee, and we'd like to share the journey of our 3 1/2-year-old son, Slayter.

Slayter is a bright, kind-hearted, playful, and affectionate little boy. He was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3, and since then, we've been dedicated to providing him with the support he needs. We've noticed that when Slayter experiences anxiety or sensory overload, having a dog nearby helps him calm down. We believe that a specially trained service dog would be an invaluable companion for him during these challenging moments. In the picture above, you can see Slayter with our beloved dog Bentley, who is now 14 years old. Despite Slayter's deep affection for Bentley, Bentley can no longer keep up with his needs. We were gifted by Slayters PawPaw a Bernese Mountain dog. She is 13 weeks old and already Slayters bestfriend. We named her Maggie!
Meet Maggie

Our goal is to raise funds for service dog training for Maggie. This specially trained companion, will offer Slayter the comfort and stability he needs when he feels overwhelmed.

Slayter often struggles with his emotions and can become very distressed over unexpected things. He has a tendency to run off without warning, which has led to some frightening situations. As he grows older, managing these moments becomes increasingly difficult. We live in constant fear of him wandering off or getting hurt because he doesn't understand the risks around him.

A service dog could help prevent Slayter from running away in public, provide comfort when he's overstimulated, and help him sleep peacefully at night. Our family truly needs this dog. Finding a sense of regularity and consistency for Slayter would transform our lives.

We are aiming to raise $10,500 to cover the cost of the service dog training. This is a significant expense that we cannot afford on our own. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. This service dog could prevent Slayter from eloping and greatly improve his daily life. Slayter has a unique connection with dogs, and we believe this would be a life-changing addition for him.
